O Brother.... Online
Visit the "O Brother Where Art Thou" Official Website and play the Jukebox
Well,
the biggest news in folk music these days is the sound track to the Coen Brothers'
O Brother Where Art Thou. A great soundtrack of traditional American
folk and blues songs by any standards and a revolution in popular music for
a general public who suddenly can't get enough of "Man of Constant Sorrow."
But it's not exactly a revelation to serious folk fans, who have been listening
to Harry Smith for going on 50 years. I plan to review the CD soundtrack in
just another few weeks, but meanwhile you can hear it on the internet.
Just head to the movie's official site
http://studio.go.com/movies/obrother/
and click on the Flash version of the site. If you now go to the music link, you'll find an old-fashioned jukebox - just click on the numbers A3, C2.... and then click play. No quarter needed. All tracks are fine.
